Jennifer is already employed in another capacity at the station. Sometimes recruiting from within is a way to save money on salaries and the learning curve would be less. I can't believe the salary is that high inasmuch as Marilyn worked two jobs from as early as 5-6 in the morning. Canadian television doesn't pay the salaries we hear of in the U.S. Anyways you make a good point about painting the soles red and I know of those who have done that. However the shape of the boot is exactly the same and that would be hard to replicate. So I would guess they were authentic. A lot of money to make a statement. I don't think it made her a better host.
Let's hope the annoucement is soon, these hosts are becoming a faceless blur.
