Replacing Carpet with Floor in a rental apartment

    Hello all,

I'm currently renting a 1 bedroom apartment, which has wall to wall carpeting except for the kitchen and bathroom.  I'd like to replace it with some form of flooring - but i'm not willing to spend a lot of money on a place that i'm only renting.

Basically I'm looking for a cheap option to replace the carpet with some form of flooring (ie. laminate, linoleum etc.) That I could preferably do myself for like a couple hundred bucks.

The apartment is approximately 700 sq ft.

     Any advice?

I've seen this at Home Depot, but it's probably available elsewhere.  It's like a lino that comes in strips, and looks like laminant or wood.  My friend had it installed in her basement, and it looks fabulous.  I think it costs about $1.99 asquare foot, which is really good.  Even better, it's a breeze to install yourself.
