    Cleaning a gas cook top

I have a gas cook top and I am scared to scrub it. The enamel is black and I was told not to use any abraive products. I have purcahsed some enamal cleaners but they don't do much.

Re: Cleaning a gas cook top

I've got a black-topped gas stove.  I use a mixture of bakind soda and lemon juice for day-to-day cleanup.  For really big, baked on messes (I had a college-aged tenant for a while - 'nuff said) I've been known to use Easy Off on the rare occasion.  I wouldn't do it regularly, but it got the job done and didn't leave any marks.
