My sister has been testing out makeup for her wedding. She is going to have a makeup artist come do her makeup as well as that of the bridesmaids and flower girl. The last trial we were debating on the lipstick colour - a lighter shade was used that was gorgeous but we weren't sure it would be ideal for photos.

I'm looking for advice on what you used on your wedding day - brand and shade and whether it lasted well and looked good in person and in the photos. The makeup that will be used is MAC but any ideas from other brands would be helpful for us.  For instance, I used Lancome's Pinstripe for my wedding and found it to be a good shade for me and long-lasting/comfortable to wear. My colouring is fair & blond but my sister has olive skin and dark brown hair, green eyes.

As a former make-up artist I can tell you from experience that Mac is a great product.  When doing Bridal applications I would tend to consider what would look good in the photos first.  The lighter more nude lipsticks are great......Just make sure the colour has enough depth to show up in the pictures.  Also take into consideration the amount of make-up the Bride usually wears and that will be a good gage....if she never wears any at all even a little colour will feel wrong to her.  Do more trials....the photos are lasting and if the make-up is wrong or she was'nt happy with it she will have a lasting reminder.

& don't forget to use a moisturing stain type. Nothing worse than sticky, gooey gloss or transfer rub off colour left behind on teeth, & clothing.

Like the maybelline one Beyonncée pimps on the TV commercial. It doesn`t rub off and lasts for ever.......another trick is to fill in the lip colour with a lip pencil all over and top off with a light touch of moisturising or vaseline. 

Some shades can make teeth appear whiter and other shades can make teeth appear yellow.

Today, with camera & cell phones, you can get an instant effect and judge the results from the photos before the big important day !

I am still unmarried .So, i will give u some general suggestions. I think that in marriage photos matters allot .
So,give more preference to color and then decide the brand.The color which will suit more - red,dark pink,brown,etc.
It depends upon your dressing and your complexion.
If we talk about brand then i will prefer ELLE18,Lakme,Revlon,etc.
Apart from make up jewelry also plays an important role in bridal package makeup package.
