Does anyone know how you go about determining a budget for an interior designer?

We will be moving to the Okanagan, BC in the fall and want to hire a decorator to style our new home, however have no idea how to estimate a reasonable budget.

Also, how do we go about finding a designer in the region who is affordable?

 Go to the CDECA web site, they have a BC chapter though off hand I don't remember how many decorators/designers they have registered in BC.

 The cost of a decorator or designer will be determined by the scope of your project. The more defined the scope is the better a decorator will be able to tell you how much it will be.  You may only want someone to help with colours and furniture placement or need window treatments, furniture purchases and or design changes in the house.  Determine your budget, inform the professional and they will work within it.
