As promoted on our "Your City" show, I have accepted the Ultimate Club Fit Boot Camp Challenge. And two of our viewers have taken on the challenge with me up against Dylan from 91.7 The Bounce and two of his morning show listeners. It's an intense work out over the course of a month and it'll consist of weekly goals that each team is expected to meet.
Well, the games have begun and I must say I'm not as terrified as I once was. It's actually, I think, going to be lots of fun with the exception of getting up at 5am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
And each day offers a different work out we've been told. Monday = Upper Body. Tuesday = Long Runs (help! help!) & Friday = Lower Body.
So Day 1 consisted of jogging to the High Level Bridge and doing various types of push-ups, tricep exercises using park benches and holding the plank position for as long as you can. I was aiming for 2 minutes and got to 1:59 -- so close and yet so far. A day later and I'm not that sore which is good, but I am a little nervous about Long Run day tomorrow.
My teammates are great, Darlene & Ashley are both good sports and they're hanging in there. I think we're gonna give Dylan and his team a good "RUN" for their money, well bragging right at least! ;)
