Check out Devyani Saltman on ColourTV this weekend, Dec 4 at 6:30pm

She's talking about her new book, Shooting Water, which is about the making of the film, Water, which was made by her mother, independant filmmaker, Deepa Mehta.

The book is out in stores now and the film is in theatres so check your local listings.

Has anyone seen the film yet?

Excellent movie. It's a good idea to also see "Fire" and "Earth" to get a feel for Deepa's trilogy.

"Water" will bring forth tears, but will be worth every minute. It's a powerful statement of the cruel, almost inhuman plight of widows in India.
