A baby room is a special place. The best place to start is to find a source of inspiration a special piece of fabric, a original painting or a bedding set is the perfect way to begin to put together the whole room. I am an Ottawa Ontario artist. I design original paintings for baby & kids rooms(www.redworksbaby.com), and I truly feel that the whole room can stem from one favorite piece of art. Even a old copy of your own favorite childhood story can be all the inspiration that you need. The next step is to incorporate the colours from your favorite piece into the wall colour and accessories. Although simple is better, the important thing is that you love the final outcome, and the you feel a sense of warmth and joy being in the space. I think that the design of the space can be improved by carefully selecting items and furniture from a variety of places, some old and some new. The final product looks well thought out, creative and unique. Even a tiny 6x6 painting can be the source inspiration for a whole room. I have also had a huge demand for painting sets, two or three little paintings in the same theme creates a modern yet simple backdrop for a whole room.
I paint kids art because I love to have fun with shape and colour. The best part is that kids always know exactly what they love when they see it. They are the best critics to have, honest.
