Labour and Delivery Comfort Measures Class

Does Labour and Delivery scare you?  Are you hoping for a natural birth?  Do you want an epidural but not right way so your labour is not stalled?  Do you have questions about pain management and medications available to you in a hospital setting?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then this is the course for you.  This one evening, three hour class will help you answer these questions and feel more confident in your labour and delivery.

During this class we will focus on the different stages of labour, what you can expect to be feeling, both physically and emotionally, what your body will be doing and learn different coping skills to face it all.

We will discuss non-medicated comfort measures such as relaxation and visualization, massage, position changes, the birth ball and more.  You will practice these techniques and ask questions as you go so you are more comfortable with what to expect in your labour and delivery.

We will also discuss medications available to you in hospitals should you want to have them or should you find your labour has become more then you are able to manage on your own.

We will also discuss different proceedures and situations you may become faced with and how to handle them and how to navigate hospitals many rules and policies so you can have the birth you want and deserve.
