Not crazy about Sandra, but adore Lynn Spence.  She's a riot and one classy lady.

    artudo:
I have gone to many tapings of CityLine and I am actually going to another one in June but Lynn is actually quite serious when the camera is not on. At least that's what I noticed and I have gone to about 7 tapings and she has been at about 3 or 4 of those.

Wow, I'm fascinated that you have been to 7 tapings and counting - I have tried to get tickets and have never had success - ever!

    Re: lynn spence

I think I have gotten tickets out of pure luck. But some of the tapings I went to were awesome. I went a few years ago when the Olsen Twins were interviewed. I spoke briefly with Ashley during a commercial but she was shy. I am 18 (was only 16 at the time) but have been a huge of Full House. So they had advertised for seats and I got picked randomly. Rose Reisman was also there that day and spoke with me briefly about nutrition for me and during a break asked me what name was. On my way out I got an autographed copy of one of her books. In 2006 I was also at a taping when Dolly Parton was there. Security was really tight. What viewers did not see was there a security guard at every part of the studio and came out and stood behind Ms. Parton during commercials. However my mom said hi to her before Marilyn introduced her. Dolly was only there for a few segments so when she left the studio she had a few guards latch on to her. I can understand the need for security but everyone felt it was a bit much. During non-celeb shows they usually have one guard outside the studio. And that's so no one comes in the building trying to enter the studio. I know of Marilyn through an aquaintance but I always love feeling flattered having her come up and chat with me during commercials. A lot of people say "Oh my god you know Marilyn"? Last time she saw me last June asking me about my upcoming move (which has already happened) and complimented me on my shirt and tie. My endeavours with Marilyn have been great and though I live in Niagara Falls I am hoping to go to a taping this Fall with the new host.

This is just my opinion but the giveaways tend to suck when there is celebrity guest. I went to Father's Day special and got a Samsung MP3 Player valued at over $150. So that is probably the best giveaway to date.

Thanks for sharing your very interesting behind the scenes stories/info.

I wish more people who have been in the audience would post as well.

larryland .... I am sooooo with you . I called cityline a few times over 3 years ago and pleaded with them to purchase a thesauras for Lynn . No change ..nada , so was forever on mute button alert . For the remainder of my life if I hear someone say " absolutely " the hairs on my neck will rise.

    Re: lynn spence

Your welcome. I love talking about my experiences. The show in person is exactly what it seems on TV. However breaks can be chaotic when they are trying to change the set around. The set is exactly as it looks on TV except it's smaller. It seems small on TV as it is but yes it can get very cramped. If you are in the first row you can not stretch your legs. I did and tripped a camera guy live. Thank god the director wasn't using his shot. When they redecorated the set in 2006 they had benches instead of chairs. I am a huge fan of CityLine and love being in the audience but everyone's back killed. Shortly after that they glued seats to the benches. Because Marilyn comes from CHUM FM she does not come out until about 1 minute before the show. Plus she always has a Starbucks coffee. The floor director also yells 5 SECONDS TO AIR which is when the audience has to clap like crazy. My hands usually sting after every taping.

And in case you are wondering about Marilyn off camera she is hilarious. She always gets the audience laughing. She is funny on camera but she even more funny off camera. It has been my experience that the guests don't interact much with the audience at all though.

    Re: lynn spence

I am not a fan of lynn spence. although i know she tries very hard she is not fashion! she is what happens when you shop at reitmans for way too long. boring boring clothes with no style, flair or personality whatsoever. i think lynn is not a good fashion rolemodel. she never wears anything fun on tv and is always dressed in boring neutral colours. she is someone who is nervous to take risks and never goes out on a limb to try something new. being safe all the time is boring!!

we want fashion on city line not boring simple cheap clothes that anyone could put together. please cityline try and inspire your viewers a little more!

    Re: lynn spence

I think one has to remember that Lynne Spence has an ample harder to fit figure and has limitations to what trends/styles she can wear & pull off without become a bad fashion victim.

I like her segments and what she chooses to put on the models for her fashion segments.

I would say she definitely has a sense of style knows what works for various body types. I admire her passion and knowledge she communicates to the audience.

I love Lynne Spence!  I wish she could come shopping with me one day!

I think she has great style and she always looks so well put together....unlike Sandra Pittana!  Some days I look at that woman and think, WHAAT????

But whatever....I enjoy listening to both of them (usually)  Lynne Spence is funny, a little nutty but when it comes right down to it, she knows her stuff.
