    Re: New Cityline Host

can't stand this 'try on a new host for a day' - one is shriller than the next.  why not let them host for a week, settle down a little rather than having this 'do or die' routine on every show.  frankly, these people are overshadowing the guests and the show topic & it's uncomfortable to watch these daily auditions.  either resolve it and have the audience slowly trickle away

    Re: New Cityline Host

Yeah, but imagine if 'that scheduled week'...........the chosen guest host happens to be the one you really like the least. One who really grates on your nerves.......talk about changing the channel and getting hooked on the new Steven & Chris show on CBC Canada !!!!!!!!!!

    Ouch !!!! CityLine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I do look forward in tuning in daily and watching the revolving door of guest hosts.

Today, I thought Jenn Valentyne was less 'loud' and more toned down. Thanks for reading here JENN !~

    :)

Loved her look and her outfit did compliment her !!!

Was baysgirl watching the same show? I thought jacqueline was exceptional! Incredibly articulate while still maintaining such warmth and appeal, I'd be thrilled to see her every day! SammyCat was right about her great voice. I love Marilyn but why does everyone have to be hatin' on the newbies?

    Re: New Cityline Host

I think what one likes another will find fault. In a way, that is a good thing !!

Imagine, if we were all the same?? & let us remember, there is no perfect house, mate or host.

(I will admit, Marilyn's voice could have used improvement....but overall she had many other admirable attributes) !!

    Re: New Cityline Host

So far I've seen all the candidates and am getting the sense that they are all trying too hard. Maybe it's a good idea to give the frontrunners 2 or 3 days in a row so they can settle in to the show.

My favourites to date are Christine Cardoso, Jenn Valentyne and Jenny Adams. I think Jenn has the most potential as someone that we could live with on a daily basis and we have seen her on my two favourite days. She has humour and sparkle and seems to relate well to the experts and the audience.

It must be daunting to be auditioning to fill Marilyn's shoes and these girls are probably very nervous and trying to make a good impression. Christine's strength was that she seemed very comfortable and didn't talk too much or too loud, but I'd like to see more of her humour.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I am Loving having Jenny Adams host.

For me she just has that Extra Edge over the other top contenders.

Sandra seemed to enjoy working with her as host on Fashion Friday too.

I hope they will try her out for a week and see how that goes.

Re: New Cityline Host Should be Jenny Adams

Once again, Jenny Adams shows that she is the girl for the job. She's so comfortable in front of the camera and she knows her stuff. She is a pleasure to watch and listen to....not annoying in anyway. Please have her on more often....like FOREVER!!!!!

    Re: New Cityline Host

I totally agree with salfost.   Jenny Adams was pleasant, but lacks the humour and people skills that Jenn has.  Even though Christine has done better than most of the guest hosts. I still think Jenn has more TV and life experience then all the women trying out and could develop a strong following.

    Re: New Cityline Host

    Thanks Hamandchee

The reason I think Jenn is the one is because she has covered just about everything there is to do doing the Live Eye on BT. All the people on BT are pretty enthusiastic because they are supposed to be in that time slot to "wake us up". I think if Jenn got the job she would adapt and be very good. She has all the ingredients but needs a chance to get a feel for that time slot.

I know that I love Cityline not only for the expert advice but because it is live and like going out for coffee with girlfriends. FYI, I sent an email to Jenn after her first tryout and couldn't believe that she answered me right away and thanked me for the nice comments. That alone tells me that she is "real" and approachable - 2 things that Marilyn had going for her.

I've watched Jenn on BT for years and get a sense that she is a lot of fun and very good at what she does.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I agree we're not all alike & like you said it's a good thing.  You can tell a joke to 2  or more people and you'll get a different reaction from each one. Unfortunately I didnt get to watch the show today. I'm hoping it's on later today. We've all get a different opinion for each host. It's got to be hard on them forsure. BUT TUNE OUT AND WATCH STEVEN AND CHRIS.  OMG  NO NO NO. I don't know which one it is because I just can stand that show, but he would get on  your nerves listen to that voice.

I wish all the host the best of luck. I'm sure which ever one gets in they will settle in and be a good host.

Love Jenn also.  Looked great and listened to her guests.  Hope she is the new Cityline host.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I agree, either Christine and Jenn Vallentyne would make the best hosts. I also loved Kathryn Humphries.  She made me laugh, but I am not sure she would take the job or if she would be well-suited to every show (i.e the shows on parenting etc..)

They seem to have a few good people to choose from but I really hope that one of those two is chosen.

    Re: New Cityline Host

Please not Jennifer Valentyne....Shes annoying enough on BT in the morning...I hope we don't have to endure Liz West or Dina again....I could go on....There have only been One or Two that are suited to the job...its surprising that the powers that be havn't chosen one yet????  I know one thing...I do believe I am watching the end of what once was a great show!

    Re: New Cityline Host

I agree! I turned the show off after 10 minutes of Jenn Valentyne! I'm afraid that I just couldn't watch her on a regular basis!! I did like Jenny Adams! I think she would grow to fit the role very well. Though Jenn seems to be reading these and making changes, I have NO faith that her true personality would not resurface if she got the slot!!
