    Re: New Cityline Host

I'd often wondered what happened to one of my favourite morning hosts, so you can imagine my surprise and excitement when I learned that Christine Cardoso would be guest hosting on CityLine! I've just finished watching today's show and I thought she was fantastic. She's a very natural and genuine host, and she seems so comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. Well done to the producers/decision makers at CityLine for finding Christine -- and just like Marilyn, I'd be happy to welcome Christine into my home each day.

Christine Cardoso was fabulous!  Humble, poised, warm, natural, great interaction with guests and audience, listens well, comments appropriately, asks good questions, has an easy style and pleasant voice.  Cancel the auditions and sign her up City TV!!!!

    Re: New Cityline Host

I have to agree with everyone on today's host Christine Cardoso. She was really good & spoke in just the right tone. Big Smile

Well so far I can say the one that would stop me from watching this show would be if they put Liz West as host. Sorry Liz. This just isn't your thing.

But we certainly miss Marilyn. Oh I wish she could come back. Best of luck Marilyn. We all love you.

    Re: New Cityline Host

You are way off.. Dina has been the best so far!.... She is funny- like Marilyn...She is well spoken..very eloquent. She is a fresh face and will bring a new updated look to cityline.. I found the other hosts a little borring and soft spoken... She is also beautiful... I am a new mother at in my 30's and I would watch Dina any day... Marilyn had a way of  connecting with the audience and she would joke around sometimes.. Dina is very much like that... She is a natural while the other guest hosts seem like they are trying to hard. and by the way Marilyn is form IDAHO-USA...

I also don't know who this Christine Cardoso is but WOW!  she's really good!  She seems so natural ... like she's been doing this for years!  I sure hope Cityline picks her cuz the rest of the guest hosts are no where near as good.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I think the concensus is that Christine should be our new host. I think it would be good to have a new fresh face for this job as opposed to someone we already watch on CIty TV.

She was fabulous yesterday and it is interesting how many people have commented on the fact that she is humble. That is such a great quality in a host that we will be watching every day. Where did producers of television shows ever get the idea that we want to listen to shameless self-promotion and loud assertive behaviour on tv. It's all over American televsion and I would hate to see a Canadian gem like CityLine go down that road.

Kathryn Humphreys is hosting today & so far I've found her really good. She reminds me  a bit like Maryiln. Good luck

    Re: New Cityline Host

I am watching the Fashion Friday show with Kathrine Humphries & I am getting the impression that she is really a tomboy disguised in girly girl fashion. Not feelin' it.

She would be more comfortable in the Leaf's dressing room.

    Re: New Cityline Host

Sorry, I didn't see Jennifer Valentyne host, but from all that I have seen her do in the past on BTV, she is not the one!! She is too much about herself!  Sorry, but after 18 years, it would be the end of CityLine for me, if she is the host!

    Re: New Cityline Host

I'm guessing you haven't seen much of Jennifer Valentyne on BTV??? Perfect replacment and down to earth would not be the words I would use to describe her!! More like "How about me? Did I tell you I used to be a cheerleader?"

    Re: New Cityline Host

Still loving Jody from earlier in the week... would love to see her come back again for another guest host spot.  I've seen her on Leafs TV and she's very easy to watch/listen to.  Biggest thing I liked was her interest in the topics, her knowledge about cooking.  Definitely a big NO on Liz... yikes.  Kathryn was ok...
