I also agree Kimberly Seldon is not the right person....she is talented in design, but her commentating style leaves alot to be desired. Did not enjoy her HGTV show because of this.  Also, I think a designer is not what we want as a host. I think that would be a little one sided.

I watched Cityline today with Kimberley Sheldon as host & I also agree this is not her thing. Don't get me wrong she is a nice person but to me she has this childest way she talks and acts. Almost like a whinny child.

If I had to choose between Kimberley of Liz West. It would be Kimberley forsure.

Am I the only person in Canada who does not know why Marilyn Dennis is no longer the host of Cityline?

Did I miss the only episode which might have had some kind of explanation? I realize everyone is entitled to privacy, but as a TV personality, some explanation should be out there........

I don`t know, I like Kimberly Seldon.  She's cute and a little edgey. A real woman.  Oh. I hope to God that don't keep that blonde, lactating girl who talks too much and asks too many questions.  She was so boring (sorry hopefully its just Baby Brain).  How about Ray Staples? :D  Now there's a fun woman with alot to say.  I want someone who is interesting again, not just a cute little Barbie (they really don't do anything for me :P).  The girl that has been with Cityline for years (what was her name again...talk about Baby Brain).  She is petite and brunette (at least she used to be) and she has been all over Cityline.  She`s cute and smart.  SHe would be a good choice if I could only remember her name...

I was wondering the same thing myself.  Did she just retire.

A Designer makes a great host...who knows better about trends, styles and shopping???

Thats what they do all the time for clients.  Look at Lynn Spence and Lisa Rogers.  Perfect examples of women that have made the transition from fashion and design.

Re: Suggestion for a new host

I don't think it is a secret ~ this is my understanding of what transpired.....Marilyn left after City was sold to a competitor to her radio station.  Since it would be a conflict of interest, Marilyn chose to stay at the Radio Station.  I remember her saying a while ago she thought that she would be scaling back her hectic pace and didn't know how long she would do both.  I think she saw the writing on the wall.  It is my understanding that she will be getting a new show on CTV called the Marilyn Denis show.  That announcement was made on Broadcaster Magazine with the new shows for the Fall.  I think everyone was sad to see her leave and wish her the best on her new show.  We also hope that Cityline finds a new host who will not fit into Marilyn's shoes (as no one can do that), but who will add their own touch to the show and become as irreplaceable as Marilyn is in their own way.

Re: Suggestion for a new host

I don't like to say anything negative, but my opinion is that Kimberly Seldon is not the next host for Cityline.

I preferred Christine Cardoso and Kathryn Humphreys as host.  Their expertise is not in the decorating / repair / fashion industry and their lack of knowledge in these fields is a good thing.  After all, we are all tuning in to gain a little information from the experts.  Kimberly is a great guest....adds lots of fun, but not a host.

Re: Suggestion for a new host

Elissa did well today, I remember her from my years in Ottawa.  She was on the 'New RO', in fact I met her once and she was quite nice.  So some bias on my part. :)

Re: Suggestion for a new host

Is it just me or is CITYLINE going down the tubes?  There have only been a couple of shows that I have been able to sit all the way through since Marilyn left.  The content is good but the hosts are basically terrible.  No screen presence, nervous, hyper, trying too hard to impress, and way over the top sometimes.  Its distracting to the content of the show.  If this keeps up viewership will drop and drop.  Come on Cityline ...can't you find a suitable replacement????  What is taking so long????
