What colour should I paint my kitchen cabinets??????

Hi I recently bought a house and am considering painting the cupboards. Ive always been curious to do so but i am having a problem picking a clour. I really like the almond white but I also like the expresso colour. My kitchen is not very big but it gets lots of light. My appliances are white as well. I move in in October and am curious to what colour to choose. please help me !!!! Im open to any idea although I am not fond of the colur blue for anything, lol. thank you so much anyone who can help me decide between the 2 pros/cons about the colours.

What about espresso on the bottom and almond white on top?   Or, I've seen the cupboard frames painted in a dark colour, with the doors in the light colour.  Whether or not that would work would depend on the style of doors though.

What colour are the floors? What colour will the walls be?  What about your accessories?   If you give us a direction, we might have better luck giving you specific colours.

My oven, fridge, and stove are white. I still have to get all other appliances ex. coffee maker toaster ....but I am getting married in October and have to register for gifts, so for those I could pick out whatever colour. The floor is and off white/tan tile and for the walls Im thinking of going a sage/olive green. The living room walls are dark tan and I really like the natural look. My taste in funiture lately is probably the same nuetral colours, browns, pastel purples, greens and such. Im not partial to blue though. Also the trim is white throughout the house. I love both dark and light cupboards but im not sure which would better suite my style. thank you in advance for ANY suggestions :)

    ps how do insert photos?

Re: What colour should I paint my kitchen cabinets??????

When I moved to my husband's house after we married we decided to paint the cupboards which were natural wood.  We choose a color that was a light almond, that was 7 years ago and we are now gutting our kitchen and having our new cupboards painted the same color.  Our kitchen is not very big, it also has lots of light but the difference in the room was amazing.  Also we used a sage green on the walls for several years and it went very well.  Our floors were off white and tan now they are hardwood and it still looks wonderful, and our appliances are white too!  Your kitchen sounds like mine except right now the walls are a blue :)

    Hello there,

5 years ago we painted out plain white melamine cupboards with Navajo white and added silver knobs and pulls. It totally looks like another kitchen. Our walls are a mossy green and I have red decorations around (plates, pears) Our kitchen island is a dark wood (stock cabinets from Home Depot) with the same hardware. Even if we needed to replace today, I would go for the same color sceem. Make sure you do all your prep!!

    Good luck!

My kitchen had ecru melamine cupboards with the oak pull strips across the bottom. I painted everything in cloud white as replacing them wasn't an option. What a difference that made! The walls are 'dijon' and the counter top is a granite look laminate. The island counter top has not been replaced (the money went on emergency vet bills instead) but I painted it 'vellum' , one shade lighter than dijon and it's holding up well. Remember, whatever colour you paint your cupboards, if you don't like your first choice, you can just repaint!
