    Smart Tiles, Peel and Stick

I am very excited to see this new product, smart tiles. Would anyone know if they can be used, over wallpaper? I have wallpaper on my backsplash in kitchen and would love to be able to use this product, when they come available. Thanks

Hi, once they are available. I am sure they will say if they can be used over wallpaper.  I think it will depend on the wallpaper, but I would at least give it a try. Perhaps do a small section.

Hi. The smart tiles were available at Home Depot only if I remember right from the show and were available June /08?  We are now empty nesters and are doing a total bathroom renovation and we were wondering if they were a durable product to replace my existing tiles that are porcelain that are cracked in places and approx. 35 yrs old. Also wondered what the cost of them were? Love "Cityline" so sorry to see Marilyn leaving the show.   Thanks !

Hi...I also saw that episode & I've been on-line at Home Depot & can't find them at all.  I've typed in the search box for "Smart Tiles" and also did "Peel & Stick Backsplash Tiles"...it brings me to some peel & stick tile for kids (have Pooh & Barbie, etc.) but not the ones that were shown on CityLine.  I don't drive so I wanted to see if they had them on their website before I take a bus to Home Depot, but can't locate them.

If anyone has purchased these tiles & used, please advise which Home Depot had them.  I will call Home Depot tomorrow to inquire but thought I could find them in first at www.homedepot.ca

Sorry that Marilyn has left also....love to watch the reruns though for now.

The website is www.thesmarttiles.com and you can order directly from the manufacturer (which are canadians by the way) by emailing them I think. http://www.thesmarttiles.com/pages/contact/contact.php

    Happy decorating!

As long as you have a stable surface you can apply the tile.  They are smart but expensive, however you save on labour, you may just want to get new tile.

Here is an idea use thin set to resurface wall then use decorative paint or textured primer with tape you can create tile pattern.
