    New Host Suggestion

Did you see Jennifer Valentine as Friday's Fashion Host?  Wow!  She was spectacular, informative, relaxed, seemed right at home. Witty, charming, bright, the perfect host.  If there's ever a vote, she has mine!

Jennifer was ok...looking forward to seeing kathryn Humphries next week ... I think she has a similar soft/laid back personality and kind of even looks like Marilyn...well, maybe just very slightly..lol

    Re: New Host Suggestion

I have loved watching Cityline for about 14 years and I cannot believe that they are going to have Liz West host again this week.. She has been a  painful to watch disaster twice already.

I will NOT be watching her a third time.

    Re: New Host Suggestion

I didn't find Liz West terribly bad. Was ok. I need to see hosts again in action, a couple of times before coming to a final conclusion.

Like a restaurant, I like to give at least a couple ot times before saying I liked it or really disliked it. Sometimes, things behind the scenes (TV) that are not visible to us are off, therefore, making the total experience unpleasant or less than satisfactory. Some times staff behind the scenes are  having an off day (for a variety of reasons unbeknownst to the viewer) thus making it more difficult to deliver a good product.

I am fair. Willing to give a fair chance. Change is difficult for most. Takes time & patience !

    Re: New Host Suggestion

PLEASE!!!!!  I hope Dina gets the boot at BT...never mind hosting Cityline. I think Kevin And Frank do an excellent job...don't need the loud mouth.  I really don't know yet who could host Cityline?? Hard to find someone to fill Marylin's shoes. I thought Liz West did a pretty good job.I just read another suggestion...Kathryn Humphries  would be an excellent choice!!

    Re: New Host Suggestion

I have never been compelled to write in and complain to a tv show until I had to endure Liz West one more time.  Don't get me wrong I think she is nice but NOT suited to hosting Cityline.  Her top was too low (the demo was a joke when she bent over) and she talked over everyone so much that Mary and Brian looked ticked off at her.  I even pushed the mute button because all I could hear was noise.  Oh back to my original comment. I emailed Cityline directly with my concerns and I think we should all do this.  Our opinions matter we are the viewers!!!!

Re: Suggestion for a new host - PLEASE NO LIZA!!!!

It's funny Liza's name has popped up in conversations I have had about a new CityLine host, but she reminds me of Liz West.  Liza never seemed interested in what the guests on BT had to say.  She would constantly repeat - uh huh, uh huh, uh huh - as guests were speaking.  It always made me feel like she wanted guests to hurry up and finish.  I don't think I would tune in if she was the new host.

    Re: New Host Suggestion

How did you email CityLine directly?  I would like to do the same.  I can't believe how many people are saying the exact same thing about Liz West.

Re: Suggestion for a new host

oh I adored Liza on BT. She had..and has on her own show....which she desrves...such an easy way about her. She LISTENS well, ALLOWS others to speak, enjoys herself and seems to be well liked by others on the show..if my perception of BT is anything to go by. I'm sure Dina is a nice person, but I miss the flow between Kevin and Liza.....anyway, back to CITYLINE.....LIZA or Jennifer! Two knowledgeable ladies who can fit in to conversations on topics they know well and equally be interested...at least feign interest well.... on topics they don't know about!!

Re: Suggestion for a new host

I just wanted to say I watched a program with Liz West as host and was also quite put off on her style of hosting.  Ramsen was trying to do a piece on fixing cracks and holes in concrete and she wasn't even listening to what he was saying.  He had to actually tell viewers NOT to do what she did (even though he had just finished saying how to do it correctly) during the segment.  I haven't had a chance to see anyone else, except for someone I didn't recognize and was not impressed with.  I think Kathryn would be great. No to Dina.  Jennifer is great on BT, I want her to stay there, in fact I only watch BT for Jennifer and Frank.

Re: Suggestion for a new host

I have watched and listened to Marilyn Denis for years.   Love, her lots.    Happy to hear that she is getting her own show with CTV.   But please please PLEASE, do not make Liz West the permanent host.  She is

annoying the way she ignores the guests and is only interested in hearing herself talk.    I was embarrassed for her when Ramsen had to tell the viewers to not do the cement repair the way she was demonstrating it.

She is not funny and is obnoxious at best.  Cityline needs someone with some class (like Marilyn)

    Re: New Host Suggestion

    Don't know Liz West!!

Why not choose several people and give them all a trail run in turn...  Then let viewers vote on who's the best replacement....

Embarrassed Would like to know if the rumour is true... that Marilyn is expecting a bambino!? :^)

    Re: New Host Suggestion

Well, I do know that Marilyn had a hysterectomy a few months ago so that would be a rumour, although a "man" did give birth to a baby yesterday, so who knows these days!

So far, my favourites quest hosts have been Christine Cardoso and Kathryn Humphries, least favourite Liz West.  Your suggestion is good but only one vote per person.

Re: Suggestion for a new host

Unfortunately I don't think I can say who the best host would be for Cityline. I love the show and enjoyed Marilyn as a host. She had the right combination of humor, knowledge.........and lack there of (you don't want a designer in this role as I believe it would be a conflict of interest!) curiosity etc...........someone who is smart and witty and if I can say it once again have a very good sense of humor.

I think that replacing Marilyn will be quite diffcult. Good luck in the search.

My only comment. I did see Kimberely Seldon as host today. I am sure she is a lovely person however I don't think she would

be the right host for the show.  I don't want to be negative but I am not fond of her hosting style. I have seen her on her television

programs,  as a host in the Unique Lives Series (at Roy Thomson Hall) as well as on cityline. I don't enjoy her commentating style.

I don't want to offend but I would watch less of Cityline is she were a host. Nothing personal.

    My 10 cents worth
