I think Jessica was a good host & please do not have Jennifer Valentyne has a full time host she is to full of herself.  This is a show about the guests & the audience not her.  Dina is also a good choice.

I thought Jennifer did a great job today. It would be nice to see how she does on Home Day.

I agree with most of the Liz West comments here... she dominated the conversations with her comments and opinions and personal information (too much information). She kept bringing the conversation back to her. It's too bad - she seems really sweet and funny - but I don't think this is her forte.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I agree with the previous post. Dina was okay but I couldn't stand to watch her every day.

I was about ready to stop watching CityLine ( a depressing thought) when I saw today's show with Jenn Valentyne. She was awesome and a perfect replacement for Marilyn. She is so down to earth, funny and brings a lot of television experience to the table. If she is not selected for this job I will be very disappointed.

The other candidates were loud and obnoxious and talked over the experts. The beauty of CityLine has always been that it is uniquely Canadian. Please don't resort to American style "In your face" broadcasting.

The new host needs to be someone that the audience can connect with!! I couldn't help that the audience response to Jenn was very positive.

    Re: New Cityline Host

Everyone adored Marilyn.  She is a gracious, modest, and accomplished woman who honed and developed her skills as host of CityLine.  We need to give a chance to all the new guest hosts that City is bringing foward, but to date, I have to say that Jenn V. has my vote.  She seems to be the one that will most easily connect with CityLine viewers. Best of luck to her.

NO NO NO...to Jennifer, I can not stand her on BT and will stop watching Cityline if she gets that job. She is so full of herself, conceited is even to mild of a word to describe her! Liz is not right for that spot either, my choice is Dina for sure, just love her style!....good luck Dina hope you come out on top!

    Re: New Cityline Host

ABSOULUTELY NO NO NO TO DINA....she is the most annoying thing on morning tv now I have to watch on my fave show cityline??  NO WAY!!!  She tries way too hard to be funny and she's not and she never shuts up.  I feel sorry for poor Kevin on BT that has to deal with her everyday.  I will defenitly not be watching me fave show if she is picked and quite a few people I know do agree.  I think Catherine Humphies will do well but we'll see.  And yes Jennifer is full of herself that I do agree.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I saw Jody Vance this morning and I guess she did a pretty good job. However, I think the new host must be someone with whom the viewers feel that they could "hang out ". I don't get that feeling from her.

The best show of the year is "Girls Night In" and the only person so far that I could imagine hosting that show would be Jenn Valentyne. She is real!!

    Re: New Cityline Host

What is with LIZ WEST being on this show 3 TIMES? I find her totally annoying and will stop watching if she gets the job. It seems that she must have an in with the producers or something. In short, she talks too much and is way too full of herself.

    Re: New Cityline Host

Well this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to post on these message boards....but OMG.....I agree with so many of you regarding Liz West!!!  I just want to tell her to shut up!!  You have guests and experts on the show for a reason....LET THEM SPEAK!!!  I feel so sorry for the panel experts who had the pleasure of working with Marilyn for so many years.  I loved watching them all together....felt like dropping by friends house to chat.  Also something missing is the interaction with the audience....Marilyn always made them feel like they were part of the show.

So far my choice would be Jennifer Valentyne (sp?) although I have not seen Dina or Catherine....I will be watching!  For how long...not sure....lol

    Re: New Cityline Host

I agree, Jessica Holmes was very enjoyable to watch.  I would definitely continue watching cityline (which I have for 10+ years) if she were hosting.  Even if Jenn or Dina from BT were to host.  HOWEVER, I will never watch Cityline again if I have to listen to Liz West!!!   I watch this show because of the incredible guests.  They are so insightful, talented and they all have so much incredible advice for the viewers.  Liz West in my opinion, is rude and so disrespectful to these amazing guests!  These people have so little time to say what they need to say but she interrupts constantly, doesn't pay attention and I truly believe she feels that people are watching to see her and listen to all of her thoughts and opinions.....UMMMM...NO!!!!!!

As I said before, I have watched this show for years and I would love to continue doing so....but if Liz West continues to host.....I won't be watching.

    Re: New Cityline Host

i've never felt compelled to post before but Liz West was AWFUL. Can she shut up for more than 5 seconds to let the EXPERTS talk? And why does she act like everything is so damn difficult and that only things that are easy are worth doing around the house. What a ditz!

They need to give Marilyn whatever she wants to get her back. No one's gonna watch Cityline without her...

    Re: New Cityline Host

I've never felt compelled to post before either......but after watching today's show I just had to state my opinion too.  I feel exactly the same about Liz West  You could even see that Ramsin was getting rather irritated today too.  I like yesterday's host.  Not sure of her name.  Haven't seen any of the others yet.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I was so irritated by Liz West last week I actually wrote an email directly to Cityline@CityTV.com just incase they did'nt check the message boards.  You all should do the same...keep the emails coming in so that they know the viewers don't like her.
