    Re: New Cityline Host

What about letting Simi Sarah, who recently left a TV host show have a tryout?

Who the heck is Simi Sarah?

Just pick Jen Valentyne and get on with it!   The very long audition process is wearing me out!

    Re: New Cityline Host

I too have had it with this whole process and wish they would hire Jenn and get on with it. I see next week is Tracy for the whole week. Does this mean everyone on the short list gets a whole week now?

It's funny but back in May when I first found out about Marilyn leaving, I said to my husband that I thought Jenn would be perfect for this job before I even knew about these auditions. She has the energy, experience and people skills to carry this show every day but more importantly she is FUNNY ALSO!!!

I know all the others are trying really hard (most of the time way too hard) but by now I think we have a good idea of whom we could watch on a regular basis. Catherine may be fine on the Mom Show but she gets on my nerves with that whole Barbie Doll thing that she has going on.

A lot of my friends are devoted fans of Cityline and they are all saying that Jenn is the only one that they can identify with.

I just can't believe this is going on and on and on ... we got rid of our satellite subscription a few weeks ago and part of the reason is I just don't watch Cityline anymore and that is all I used to watch - all the reruns on the weekend! The whole process seems so directionless and the communication with the fans has been non-existant! I feel really sorry for the regular guests - they must be so embarrassed.

"The communication with the fans has been non-existent"

You are so right.  This audition process has been a complete disaster in my opinion.

No respect for the loyal fans.   I'm ready to abandon ship for good.  It's mid October for God's sake and there is nothing even posted on the home page about what the heck is going on.  They don't deserve our viewership.  Bunch of hackers running the show.

OMG I can't believe a new Host hasn't been picked yet. What is going on??

I'm still pulling for jennifer. V.

I see Tracy is hosting this week. Sorry but I feel she just doesnt do it for me.

    Re: New Cityline Host

I'm glad that I'm not the only one. Obviously Tracy is a frontrunner but although she does a really good job, she doesn't do it for me either!!

I'm also pulling for Jen because she is the only one who I could watch every day. She is a FUN person and has the most going for her of all the people they are considering. I can't for the life of me figure out why they can't make a decision.

I see that they are showing reruns again next week. I guess they don't care if they lose all their viewers. I am quickly losing interest in this show which has been part of my day for 19 years!!!

Salfos - I totally agree with you. I'm not saying it to be mean to Tracy.

    Re: New Cityline Host

The new host should have the following characteristics:  personable, pleasant, respectful of experts, guests, and audience members.  The Home Day show covers so much in such a short time so the host should facilitate but not interrupt the experts or take time to poll the audience as to their preference of ideas, etc. Tracy doesn't fit the bill.  Jennifer is the only one I think does.  I'm so afraid Cityline is going to lose me!

    Re: New Cityline Host

    I agree with you yzzo.

I just looked at the lineup for next week and see that Jenn Valentyne is guest hosting 3 times!!! Does this mean that the producers are finally getting the picture that she is the best fit. I sure hope so. I think that she is great.

I also agree that during home day that there is so much information that it is a mistake to poll the audience too much to ask if they agree. There is a fine line between making the audience feel like they are part of things and overdoing it. Marilyn had it down to a science. I always marvelled at how much info we got in the space of an hour. There is no doubt that the new host has to be professional, personable and funny. I think Jenn is the one.

In all fairness to Tracy, she is very relaxed in the role and handles herself really well. She is very good at what she does on BT but I just don't feel that she is the right one for Cityline.

    Re: New Cityline Host

Well I guess Tracey is the new host. So I don't believe I'll be watching cityline very much if at all as I haven't watched it all week with her on. I'd just check and see who the host was & then click it off. Sorry Tracey

I find she interrupts too much.  Oh well I guess I'll have to watch for the show with Marilyn on it. I hope she is still thinking of doing another show. I really liked cityline with a bit of everything. The only day I wouldnt watch was the one with the family doctors. Oh well I'll have to find something else to watch in that time slot

I'm not appy with Tracey either....i didn't watch because she was hosting too!

FYI Marilyn has apparently signed on to a new show on CTV. Not sure when it is to begin but i'll be watching!!!

    Re: New Cityline Host

Wow - I can't believe that after watching all these auditions that they have actually made a decision and chosen Tracy. Guess they weren't paying attention to fan feedback!!

I think I'll be tuning in to Marilyn's new show as well. I'm not happy with Cityline producers and probably won't be tuning in much anymore. Tracy is all right but can't figure out why she was chosen over Jenn. Anyone I talked to thought that Jenn was the only one that could fill the position.

    Re: New Cityline Host

Maybe people were emailing their opinions directly to the producers rather then posting on the forums. It took Marilyn a while to find her footing so let's give Tracy a chance. I'm sure that if things don't work out, they will release her from her contract and select someone else. I'm sure that the "powers that be" do read these forums and can give Tracey direction if/when needed. Let's give her a chance and a warm welcome!

    Re: New Cityline Host

I use to tape City Line but when I found out Tracy was the new host,  I wiped City TV from my remote.  I think she was the worst one for the job.  She just interupts the guests all the timeand she seems like she is always shouting. She never has a good hair day, it looks like she colors a mop head and sits it on her scalp.  If she has to work for City, put her behind the camera with a large hat that covers everything .
