Ep. 5 - Endings and Beginnings

I really appreciate the opportunity I’ve been given and I’m running with it and intend on working hard to be a huge success in this industry. I’ve learned so much and plan on applying those lessons to yield a long-lived career. I definitely do not regret this experience. Each of the girls in the house had distinct personalities and may have clashed but they’re all incredible people.

I must thank all my family and friends that supported me – Abi, Bee, David, Tosyn, Imoteda, Robbie - you’re all amazing!  All of you who watched the show and rooted for me, I love you! I must also thank those who sent e-mails to BT Toronto encouraging me -that meant so much to me, and thanks to Kevin Frankish!!!! It's priceless knowing that people actually care and appreciate my efforts on the show. That motivates me and now you know I won’t stop. And for everyone out there who has the passion and drive, I say go for it and all the best!

Ep. 4 - The View From the Top

I had an awesome week this time. I performed well at our challenge for the week –interviewing Marco from Degrassi: The Next Generation. He made it really hard for us because that was the whole point but I still sailed through it.

We had a glamour shoot portraying the fabulous lifestyle! It was absolutely amazing! Our props were a hot male model, a 2008 Cadillac CTS prototype and a helicopter. I really prepared myself by believing I was truly rich and famous during hair and make-up. Practice makes perfect! I had a really good picture and I’m glad I got into character prior to being on set as opposed to waiting till I got on set.

We had the hockey players come over and that was a really refreshing experience – it was nice to have some testosterone in the house. It was one night of fun in the house like no other yet.

Unfortunately, someone had to get eliminated and it happened to be Gina. I was somewhat unhappy to see her leave mostly because she did have the passion to be a model she just was unsure about how to express that in her work.

Everyone else moved into Rebecca’s and my room because they were asked to do so. I think it should be really interesting because some of us like it noisy and sleep late, while some of us would rather sleep early in a quiet environment. Now, I’ll hardly get a good night’s rest…

The challenge for next week has to do with fitness and exercise. I’m looking forward to performing incredibly well. I got to the top, now I’m here to stay.

Ep. 3 - Turning negatives into positives...

The journey has been extremely interesting so far. I have learned a lot more than I imagined I would. We learned how to run the runway with Miss Jay!!! The best way one could possibly wish to learn. It was a once in a lifetime experience I just couldn’t forget. He had hockey players help us with skating. The guy I had, Matt was really considerate and aware of the fact that I was not good on ice. He was extremely cautious and positive which really helped me improve.

We also had to shoot a Venus breeze commercial and although I knew all the lines perfectly, it was somewhat difficult to transmit them well in the commercial but I did it!

Unfortunately, someone had to get eliminated today and we were all honestly unsure of who it would be. No surprise, because Jay said we all had a bad week. Nonetheless, I have made note of all my weak points to improve on for next week, and I am ready to take on the next challenge.

Ep. 2 - Emotions and Expressions

Today was the saddest elimination day yet! I bonded with Jacqueline and she is the sweetest thing ever. I think I connected with her more than anyone else and was as real as it gets. Too bad the judges saw something I must have missed. I cried so much I felt like she could have been my sister. At our last photo shoot, she helped me out so much when I felt really bad and reminded me to just keep practising. I had a good photo. Her bed is right next to mine and I don’t know how comfortable I would feel especially because it was sooo unexpected. I really must step up my game as a model because I have to make sure I win this competition. It’s good that I have made progress so far.

We got the coolest cameras as gifts from Jay and they are absolutely fantastic!!! Bloody hell! None of us expected them so I must say we are all pretty thrilled right now.

I have to drink lots of water to make my skin more radiant in my photos and I have to practice sooo much to get my facial angles and expressions on point. I’m going for my high heels and practising for whatever we may have tomorrow...

Ep. 1 - Focus Factor

This journey has been so exciting and surprising so far, and needless to say, it has been the most incredible and unbelievable experience of my life! I want this so bad I could lose my mind if I fail.

Just when I thought I had made it into the top 10, we had a huge shocker thrown at us, we had elimination on the first day. The first photo shoot taught me to be a lot more patient and actually take time to ask questions about the shoot before I dive into it. I did not get eliminated today, and I feel like everything I do from now is going to reflect a hundred and fifty percent of an effort. I have refused to call home just yet so I can keep my focus. I think being focused is the most important factor at this point in time.

However, it has been great meeting so many other people with the most diverse mix of personalities I have yet to encounter. Photographers, models, make-up artists, directors, producers, you just name it! It serves as a brilliant learning exercise on patience, tolerance, and keeping your cool at all times. You win some, you lose some but you definitely can’t be best friends with everyone. So I try at least, to get along well.

I will do whatever it takes to get to the top and stay on top, as CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.
