Ep. 6 - The Motivating Factor

This week we had another challenge - this time we had to go on go-sees. We had to go to six different locations to show off our brand. I won the prize in the end because I hit the most places and got one of the better scores with the designers and clients. My prize was a $5,000 diamond and white gold ring from Birks Jewellery! I was ecstatic.

Later that week we got to have a photo shoot with Nigel Barker. We got to be Bond Girls dressed in lingerie, talking on the new LG chocolate phone, and managing a Great Dane who kept trying to pull me away. I thought I did a great job but I actually found out in judging that I was the worst of the day, so I guess I can't exactly go by Nolé's comments on the shoot because he changes his mind by the time we get to judging. After our photo shoot with Nigel, we came home and there was a note from him saying he wanted to meet us for dinner and to arrive in style. We arrived at an Indian restaurant and I was very sceptical and nervous because I have never had Indian food before and I don't like spicy food. Once we got in the restaurant I put on my brave face and I actually tried everything that was put on my plate, I can't say that I like it but I am so proud of myself for trying because I don't think I ever would have at home.

At judging this week I got a huge shock, every other girl in the house thinks that I am fake, and I couldn't stick up for my self because I was crying too much. Also no one got sent home this week, Tia and Tara were in the bottom two but Jay pulled out both of their pictures. I have a new outlook on this entire competition, I have no friends in this house so I can concentrate more on beating them. I feel very lonely right now but I am going to try to use that to fuel my drive to win.

I think the girls in the house are selfish.. and jealous cuz they kno that your there competition... don't let em get to u.... it aint worth it..... gurls are the worst and dont let them get u down... just LOOKING at them should make you feel better lol hold back the tears abit and bring ur A game and u will win this hands down :)

Cori, it is perfectly reasonable to be more comfortable around some than others and it is polite not to say somethings in front of people who are "above" you. Telling the girls you don't like spicy food is fine and not telling Nigel was very polite of you. You tried all the food which was great! Don't let the other girls get you down. If this was a vote, you'd have mine every week. You're sweet, caring and beautiful. Rock on!

Don't let the other girls get to you darlin'. They are just trying to break down your confidence, which you have worked so hard to build up. I'm a Sudbury girl myself, and I KNOW where you've come from, and girl, you have every right to be happy about where you are, and don't be afraid to show it! If the other girls can't handle you being excited for making it this far, let them b**ch. You're the one enjoying yourself, and appreciating how far you've made it, and want to make it a memorable experience. Let them waste their time complaining the way us girls do. It just goes to show their real personalities.

I agree with all the other girls in the house, from what I can see by watching the show, your personality does seem a bit fake. If I was with you in the house I probably would be saying the same things as the other girls. I truly think you are a gorgeous girl but I think maybe you are too weak and sensitive to be a Top Model...you really need to step it up!

Cori, you can't let the girls' comments get to you when your so close to winning. The others are obviously jealous. Whether it's because you take amazing photos, because the judges are in love with you or maybe because Nigel (*whistle whistle*) seemed to be giving more attention then the others, but you have this competition in the palm of your hand. I don't believe your fake at all. No one is just one person, Tara said that you were complaining alot when you were with her for your go-sees, but everyone complains. She herself was complaining about you! I don't see how she doesn't realize that. Rebecca, Tara and Tia were the ones complaining. Because they're beginning to realize how huge a threat you are to this compitition. Even after all the things they said about you, the judges' panel still loved you, and they didn't believe a word they said about you. So don't pay attention to what they think, they'll only bring you down. The judges' thoughts are the ones that count, they're the ones that will get you places. Have faith in yourself.

I think that if you treated the girls a little nicer and maybe kept some of your thoughts to yourself, then they would like you more. Just try to treat them how you would like to be treated, and think before you speak!!! You are a great person and the rest of the girls would appreciate you more if you appreciated them!

Hi Cori!

I think it's funny that the judges were questioning your emotions. Remember who won the competition last year?? WHINEY ANDREA! She cried because she was so ugly.. then they voted off all the pretty girls and was left with her. I'm not comparing you to her, you're gorgeous and more deserving then she is!! But if Andrea can win it with her fragile soul, well, you can win it with your beautiful one!

By the way, sensitivity is nothing to be asshamed of. Just shows that you still care and you're humble! Beat those other girls!! We're rooting for you!

u know cori just be urself! i dont think ur mean at all, in fact when they said those things about u my stomach just went in knots and i felt really bad for u!...i agree u have no friends in there so just do all u can to win the competiton. dont even think about them anymore! altho i think sinead is really nice too. If u can be strong i think u can make it to the final 2 or 3. Cori, no offense but after watching this week's episode...i kind of have to agree with the others that you so seem a bit fake. I think you're a real pretty girl and everything but at the house your always complaining and when you get to the judging room, you're all smiles. I don't think you actually realize that you're doing that...Also, no offense but i don't think that you're ready for the modeling world. When the other girls were critisizing you, you started crying! In the modeling world, people are going to be brutally honest with you...and if you can't handle it, than i don't think you're ready.

personally. i am not sure if you are faking or not. i honestly think your a nice girl. but i am not too fond of you. i dont think the girls are all that jelous, i think everyone is just a little testy because you've all been around eachother so much. maybe if you were a little nicer they would be nicer to you and this experience wouldnt be so rough on you. you would probably still have friends in the house. honestly girl. think before you act. i know its not always easy. trust me i've made the mistake many times myself. but you know. being nice can actually be worth it. thats all i really have to say. though your not who i want to win, goodluck all the same.

Hey, I just wanted to say I've watched you from the beginning and you were the underdog. You have to win this, you're more beautiful than the other girls. You don't need all the make-up to look pretty like they do. Every time you want to cry just think "Maybe if I cry this time, it will be it, they won't think I can do it.." and it will help. I read Jeanne's blog and she said that the sensitivity is all that's throwing you off. She knows you should win, so do I, and so does everyone else watching.

The other girls are just jealous, because they know they don't have the raw talent, they just learned it, they didn't earn it. Haha, that rhymed. I'm talented XD

One thing-this is a woman competition not girl competition, step up and Speak! Do! Be! Being cute is great ...if thats whats called for but it won't appeal to everyone. Shed that little girl skin and be the woman we all know is there, NOW is the time. Be strong, firm, confident, energetic-YOU ARE CANADIAN-put up that "Canadian Shield" and forge ahead! Cori, it is SO obvious that the other girls are jealous that the judges love your personality and your looks and that you've won two GREAT rewards. You are just naturally a great person and they don't understand that. Also ignore everything they say about not being ready to be a model because you are ready. You've gone this far so don't let them get to you and keep working hard. I just know you'll make it to the end! The food thing though, you might want to be a little bit more civil about it and tone down the complaining a bit. Other that that, you are perfect. Right now, my opinion on your toughest competition would be Sinead and Rebecca. Don't worry Cori, you're the best!

Dear Cori,

I think you are adorable and great and I am rooting for you. However, it may be important for you to become a little more open minded. A positive attitude will get positive results. Remember these people aren't your friends so sometimes it is better for you to keep comments to yourself so that they can not be used against you later. Hey Cori! I absolutely LOVE you. I've been rooting for you. I'm from Garson, Ontario. Like 20 minutes away from Val Caron. I'm sure you know where that is . . . Anyways, I love how you tried the Indian food, that was very nice of you. I couldn't have done that. I really think that CNTM should be someone who can take constructive criticism and use it to make herself a better person. Your reaction to the other's impression of you showed that you can't take responsibility for your actions. The best way to have dealt with this situation would have been to take a serious look at yourself to see if you could make yourself a better person, but your apparent reaction (from the hysterical crying because you were called out and the trailer for next week - where you try to sabotage Rebecca) shows a lack of maturity and a lack of willingness to take responsibility for yourself and for your betterment. It's a petty person who retaliates like that instead of trying to improve. I hope that this competition will not glorify a lack of grace and humility, and I hope it does not reward someone who seems to have an unwarranted feeling of self-importance and entitlement.

you may have won the go-see, but you certainly did not get there on your own. i must admit, when CNTM first aired i was so excited - i'm from suds too. no offence, but i now agree with the other girls in the house. you seem sweet, but you're definitely too much of a pushover and too naive for this competition. you're from northern ontario yet the entire time you were on your go-see all you did was complain about how cold it is. if you didn't have a partner you never would have made all your go-sees. and i hope from watching the episodes now that the competition is over you realize that you actually had only average scores from each designer and client. i don't deny that you're pretty - but you're too girl-next-door for the modelling industry. and your tears and drama prove it. you have to be FIERCE to make it in the modelling world. if you can't survive TO, how you gonna handle the big apple?

regardless, although i am not rooting for you in this competition, i do wish you luck in all that you do. confidence will come in time honey - and when it does and when you take the time to grow and truly discover yourself i'm sure that you will blossom in all that you do. but here's a tip - you can't say you don't like something until you've tried it. if you take that approach with food you'll eat anything (and probably enjoy it, much to your own surprise). but props for eating it anyway - indian food is dee-lish!

Cori, congratz on winning the ring! Though I congratulate you, I totally did not think you deserved to win. You are a GORGEOUS girl, like Nigel Barker said, your a girl all guys would like...but you do have some issues...I know you've been through a lot in the past, but your trying to be a model!!! From what I see in the shows, you are not the girl to win. I think what the girls are saying about you is true, but don't let it get to you, but ALSO remember, they are saying stuff about you for a reason! Just be yourself, and PLEASE, STOP COMPLAINING!
